1. Introduction

Tapie (“the App”) is an e-book reader that allows users to import EPUB files, read them, translate individual words, and save translations locally on their device. There is no registration, no user account, and no cloud storage unless explicitly stated otherwise in this Privacy Policy.

By using Tapie, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Information You Provide

• EPUB files you import
  The App processes the EPUB files you choose to import. These files remain only on your device and are never uploaded or transmitted to us.
• Translated words
  When you tap a word to translate it, the translated word and its result are stored locally on your device so you can view your translation history.
• Feedback messages
  If you choose to send feedback through the in-app feedback form, the message you type is sent to us for the sole purpose of reviewing and improving the App. The feedback message does not include your name, email address, device identifiers, or any other personal information.

2.2. Information Collected Automatically

Tapie does not collect analytics, usage data, identifiers, tracking data, or any personal information automatically.

3. How Translations Work

Tapie uses a third-party translation API to translate selected words. When you request a translation:

• The word you tapped is sent to the translation API.
• No user-identifying information is sent.
• The App does not transmit the content of your EPUB files — only the single word being translated.

The translated word is then stored on your device.

4. Data Storage

All user data — EPUB files, translation history, reading progress — is stored locally on your device, except for feedback messages that are transmitted to us when you explicitly choose to send feedback.

We do not operate user accounts or cloud-based storage for personal data.

Deleting the App deletes all locally stored data.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties, except:

• Sending individual words to a translation API strictly for generating translations.
• Receiving feedback messages that you voluntarily submit through the App.

We do not share personally identifiable information because we do not collect any.

6. Children’s Privacy

Tapie does not knowingly collect personal information and can be used by users of any age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information through the feedback form, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Security

Data stored locally is protected by your device’s security features (such as passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID). Feedback messages are transmitted securely, but no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be adjusted accordingly.
